			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Isaiah 10:15 Shall the ax boast itself against him who chops with it? Or shall the saw exalt itself against him who saws with it? As if a rod could wield itself against those who lift it up, Or as if a staff could lift up, as if it were not wood!</strong></p>
<p>One constant pitfall we must watch for is taking credit for something that God does in or through us, or using the gifts and callings of God for self-exaltation. In that light it may be easier to handle poverty, weakness, or insignificance, than wealth, ability, power or authority, since poverty and frailty are not normally things we boast about, and they cause us to recognize our need for God. Prosperity, gifting, and anointing, on the other hand can be powerful temptations, leading to pride, covetousness, and self-sufficiency.</p>
<p>Saul, who came from a humble background, was anointed king of Israel, yet his heart was revealed when the Lord exalted him, but he exulted in his own position, eventually coveting it so severely he became a fierce enemy of God. The Lord then removed His spirit from Saul and the true condition of the man became apparent to everyone.</p>
<p>Even the great Solomon whose gifting, anointing, and prosperity were unsurpassed in some ways, seems to have taken for granted his abilities and wealth, and, somehow, rationalizing his blatant disobedience to God&#8217;s law, he fell into idolatry and brought disaster to the Kingdom of Israel. This seems amazing, given the fact that Solomon&#8217;s most precious gift was his wisdom. (Those with this gift should take note).</p>
<p>Be careful how you handle the gifts and successes that God gives you! Enjoy His blessings as you serve in your family, business, or ministry – but never forget where it all comes from, and to whom the glory belongs, cause if you do, He will be sure to remind you.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Song of Solomon 1:14 My beloved is to me as a cluster of henna blossoms in the vineyards of En Gedi.</strong></p>
<p>En Gedi is a nature reserve about 40 minutes from our home. Surrounded by dry, barren, rocky ground, except to the east where the Dead Sea lies, it is an oasis, fed year round by springs of fresh water, and home to some of the most unique wild and botanical life in the world.</p>
<p>In the Song of Solomon, the King likens his beloved to flowers in the desert, his experience of En Gedi, evoking the dramatic contrast between a harsh and arid landscape and the exquisite refreshing floral beauty of an oasis. Such was Solomon&#8217;s experience of romantic love, perhaps with the Queen of Sheba.</p>
<p>Now you may feel like you’re walking through a desert &#8212; wandering in a wilderness&#8230;thirsty, and perhaps, longing for love&#8230;</p>
<p>Seek the Lord your God. His Presence is an eternal spring and a perpetual oasis in this arid world, and His love is better than the most desirable romantic experience you could hope for. It&#8217;s a love which flows from an eternal spring, Yeshua (Jesus), Himself, and its sweetness and power will cause flowers to bloom throughout your dry and barren life.</p>
<p>Drink from the spring of life, your beloved, Yeshua – He will fill you to overflowing, and make you, yourself, a living spring&#8230;for this thirsty, love-starved world.</p>

This image of sanctification takes the metaphor in one direction: but here is another interesting thought. The beautiful pearl inside the oyster cannot be seen or enjoyed without a great price being paid. The oyster must die. It must be torn open in order to find the treasure within. This speaks to me of the original foundation and source of our beauty. Yeshua (Jesus) our Messiah had to be bruised, afflicted, torn and killed so that the beautiful treasures God intended us to be from the beginning, could be discovered and released from the darkness of sin.]]></description>

<p>Some time ago, we wrote about pearl harvesting as an illustration of how the Lord takes us into His &#8220;shell&#8221; like an irritating grain of sand, and over time, covers us with His beautiful covering, forming us into polished and precious gems for his glory and delight. This image of sanctification takes the metaphor in one direction: but here is another interesting thought. <p>Each one of us is a treasure in the Lord&#8217;s sight. We are His pearls of great value for which He paid the highest price! What a great honor &#8212; even the greatest honor &#8212; to be called sons and daughters of the Living God! Through His sacrifice, we become holy, and obtain the beauty and glory of eternal life.</p>
<p>George, we so bless the Lord when we radiate the polished beauty He alone can give us. Our works shine forth before men, glorifying our Father in Heaven and preparing the way for his coming Kingdom. Let&#8217;s remember who we are and walk with this beautiful radiance. There are so many people who need to see, and know Him.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Romans 8:38-39 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.</strong></p>
<p>Years ago, I visited the Niagara Falls for the first time and was truly awed by their enormity. Can you believe that at each and every second that goes by, approximately one-hundred and fifty thousand tons of water go plunging down to the bottom?! Amazing. And because of their marvelous wonder, the Niagara Falls attract nearly 12 million tourists a year.</p>
<p>The Lord could have used a lot less water. He could have made the Falls smaller, but instead He created them as high as a twenty story building &#8212; but would you believe that as much water as pours down from those Falls, that amount doesn&#8217;t even compare to the amount of love that God has poured out upon us?</p>
<p>God&#8217;s love toward us is not like a little water from the tap. It is not as high as a twenty story building &#8212; it&#8217;s not as high as a fifty story building! His love far surpasses that! We can&#8217;t help but be drenched!</p>
<p>Be encouraged! God loves you so much. He cares for every one of your needs and He is near to you! Call upon His name today.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>1 John 2:5-6 But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.</strong></p>
<p>Momentum is simply the force or speed of movement that carries an object to its final destination. If you want to break through, you need to have a certain amount of momentum. In order for a rocket to blast into space, it needs tremendous momentum to break the gravitational barrier &#8211; but with the enormous power of jet engines and rocket fuel the ship is propelled faster and faster till it breaks free of the earth’s gravitational pull.</p>
<p>Often our challenge is gaining the spiritual momentum to break through. It requires real power. Eric Liddell, the Olympic runner once remarked that the Lord requires &#8220;muscular Christians&#8221;. Believers who are serious in their faith-walk are people who stand steadfastly against difficult obstacles, and who pray with great fervency and devotion for the causes of their Lord. This produces spiritual power for significant breakthroughs in the spirit realm.</p>
<p>Sin and self-indulgence will compromise and slow the spiritual momentum required for our break through. But if we nourish the vision and cultivate the habit of pressing on to the higher calling, we&#8217;ll be inspired to forsake our sins and focus on the glory and joy of the Lord&#8217;s victory.</p>
<p>And one more thing: it is often true that the most ferocious battle, requiring the greatest momentum and perseverance (just like the rocket blast into outer space), will occur just before the breakthrough to victory.</p>
<p>Regain momentum in your spiritual life through repentance toward God, and steadfast perseverance in that specific vision and call He has given you. There is a great victory waiting for you from His heavenly realm and soon enough you’ll see it manifested right here on Earth!</p>

But notice how they fought – without weapons that an army would normally use. They fought with shofars and lamps! They fought with weapons that the world would consider ineffective, yet triumphed mightily over their enemies. They shouted as loud as they could, sounded the shofar, and broke the vessels that held the fire so that their lamps burst through with brightness.]]></description>
			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Judges 7:16-19 Then he divided the three hundred men into three companies, and he put a shofar into every man&#8217;s hand, with empty pitchers, and torches inside the pitchers. And he said to them, &#8220;Look at me and do likewise; watch, and when I come to the edge of the camp you shall do as I do: When I blow the shofar, I and all who are with me, then you also blow the shofars on every side of the whole camp, and say, &#8216;The sword of the LORD and of Gideon!&#8217; &#8221; So Gideon and the hundred men who were with him came to the outpost of the camp at the beginning of the middle watch, just as they had posted the watch; and they blew the shofars and broke the pitchers that were in their hands.</strong></p>
<p>When God called Gideon to lead Israel against their enemies, He wanted to show that a small army empowered by God was more effective than the largest armies. But notice how they fought – without weapons that an army would normally use. They fought with shofars and lamps! They fought with weapons that the world would consider ineffective, yet triumphed mightily over their enemies. They shouted as loud as they could, sounded the shofar, and broke the vessels that held the fire so that their lamps burst through with brightness.</p>
<p>This breaking of the lamps of clay holds a powerful metaphor for us. If we too are &#8220;earthen vessels&#8221; holding the fire of God – the Spirit of God within us, then a &#8220;breaking&#8221; of the outer man is necessary for His inner light to burst through. Victory can come out of brokenness. Our old life of self, often called the &#8220;old man&#8221;, when truly crucified and broken, will give way to the release of the Lord&#8217;s Spirit of God in our lives. The death of our Lord has broken the power of our self-life, since we were crucified with Him. Walking in that awareness brings light and victory.</p>
<p>Let the love, peace, joy, and all the fruit of the Spirit break through in your life. Your old life of Self has been and is being broken, as Yeshua&#8217;s victorious light shines through your earthen vessel.</p>

<p>Gideon is not the only one who struggles with feeling unvaliant, though, is he? Even the best of us struggle with feelings of failure and defeat. But we must remember that we are part of the Lord&#8217;s army &#8212; and in the Lord&#8217;s army we do not depend upon our own strength. We depend upon the power of the Lord! We depend upon the victory that He has already won!</p>
<p>Imagine the countless thousands of saints like Gideon who have passed away before us and now sit in heaven&#8217;s glory where every tear is dried, and every wound is healed &#8212; who have already fought the battle of life and are calling down to us from heaven saying &#8220;Fellow Saint, you can get through this thing! Fight this battle &#8212; for we have fought these same battles in our lives and been rewarded with heaven&#8217;s glory! So fight through and we&#8217;ll see you soon beside us! March forward you mighty man and woman of valor!&#8221;</p>
<p>The Lord stands anxiously awaiting our call. He wants us to walk in His power, not our own! Let&#8217;s give him our circumstances today and strive to rely on His strength to conquer them!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Romans 12:2 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.</strong></p>
<p>The high priest of Ancient Israel wore a crown of pure gold on his head called a Nezer, which comes from the word “nazar”. This word &#8220;nazar&#8221; means to dedicate, consecrate and sacredly separate. The word “nazarite” comes from this root, and describes someone who has taken a vow to be separated from the world.</p>
<p>New Covenant believers are called &#8220;a royal priesthood&#8221; [1 Peter 2:9], and we also, are called to live a holy life, dedicated to God and separated from the world in our thoughts and intentions. It&#8217;s not always an easy task. Our thought life is constantly challenged from within and without. In this battle, the crown of the high priest can be a powerful symbol for us; the beauty and purity of gold standing for the beauty and purity of thinking with the mind of Messiah. Since Yeshua (Jesus) was the perfect &#8220;Nazarite&#8221;, set apart in absolute purity, His thoughts were always &#8220;golden&#8221;. In communion with Him by His spirit, our thought life too, can move more and more toward His perfect mind.</p>
<p>Philippians 4:8 says this; &#8221; Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things. &#8221; This, as believers, is our mandate to &#8220;positive thinking&#8221;. In this world, negativity, cynicism and impurity abound, and it becomes easier and easier to dwell on things that are depressing and sinful, impure and evil. But these thoughts must be cut off and destroyed from our minds. Thoughts of lust, jealously, covetousness, and self-pity will take us away from our Lord, and need to be taken captive before they get a foothold. Replace them with those of Philippians 4:8.</p>
<p>You have the mind of Messiah [1 Cor. 2:16] Choose to know and think with it. Crown yourself with thoughts that are pure as gold by taking control of that ceaseless flow. You&#8217;ll be amazed at how your life will change under the influence of Yeshua&#8217;s mind!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but encouraging one another: and all the more, as you see the day drawing near.</strong></p>
<p>I heard a story about a young woman named Linda who was traveling alone up the rugged highway from Alberta to the Yukon. The first evening she found a room at a small-town Inn in the mountains and figured she&#8217;d continue her journey bright and fresh, early the next morning. But strangley, when she called down to the front desk and asked for a wakeup call at 5 AM the clerk sounded puzzled by her request.</p>
<p>She awoke bright and early as she intended, and suddenly realized the reason for the clerks reaction the night before. A thick fog covered the mountain tops &#8212; it was not the kind of weather in which you&#8217;d want to take a Sunday drive. Not wanting to look foolish, however, she got her things together and went to breakfast. There, she met two friendly truck drivers and who invited her to join them. &#8220;So, where are you headed?&#8221; one of the truckers asked. &#8220;Whitehorse&#8221;, Linda replied.</p>
<p>&#8220;You&#8217;re not planning on driving that little car are you?&#8221; he said chuckling and pointing outside at the only little car among several eighteen-wheelers in the parking lot. &#8220;This pass is dangerous in weather like this!&#8221; &#8220;Well,&#8221; said Linda, &#8220;I&#8217;m determined to try.&#8221; &#8220;Well then &#8212; I guess we&#8217;re just going to have to hug you,&#8221; the other trucker suggested. &#8220;What?!&#8221; Linda gasped, &#8220;I don&#8217;t think that would be appropriate!&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;Not like that!&#8221; the two truckdrivers laughed heartily. &#8220;We&#8217;ll put one truck in front of you and one in the rear. In that way, we&#8217;ll get you through the mountains.&#8221; All that foggy morning, Linda followed the two red dots in front of her and had the reassurance of a big escort behind as they made their way safely through the mountains.</p>
<p>Just as Linda did, we often feel confident that we can get by on our own, without any help from anyone else &#8212; and before we know it, we&#8217;re lost in the thick fog of the mountain of life. Rivka and I have seen so many people leave the fellowship of believers and go off on their own, becoming bitter against a brother or sister, or pastor and believing they&#8217;ll be better off doing their own thing. Many of these have sadly never come back to the fold. But this is yet another way the enemy of our souls seeks to draw us away from the Lord. As brothers and sisters in the Lord, we need to be closely knit with one another, helping each other and giving and receiving compassion and love. We need one another!</p>
<p>Let&#8217;s get back into fellowship. Let&#8217;s make it a priority to be &#8220;hugged&#8221; by our family in the Lord who know the way and can lead safely ahead of us, and strive to reach out and &#8220;hug&#8221; others by gently encouraging them along from behind!</p>

And you know in all your hearts and in all your souls that not one thing has failed of all the good things which the LORD your God spoke concerning you. All have come to pass for you; not one word of them has failed. </strong></p>
<p>As Joshua led the children of Israel into the promised land it seemed that God had given them an impossible assignment &#8212; to conquer a foreign and hostile land with fortified cities and armies greater than their own. They had to go forth only on the basis of God&#8217;s promise. They had to walk by faith and not by sight!</p>
<p>How did Joshua lead them to walk by faith? He reminded them that God has never failed them. And he encouraged them to them focus on the promises of God!</p>
<p>You too can rely on God&#8217;s faithfulness today! Are you in the midst of a crisis? Are high mountains facing you today? If so, we want to remind you of all the miraculous ways God has worked in your life in the past! Though we often forget our promises to Him, He will never forget His promises to us! Let&#8217;s spend the day recounting God&#8217;s victories and determine to exercise faith for the trials we face today!</p>
