Message from Bob, FM97.3/WWCC Spokesman & General Manager:
“Thank you for listening to WWCC. We’re committed to presenting the Good News of Jesus Christ to the Lafayette community and we’ve been doing so continuously since April of 2005. I’m truly blessed when someone tells me they listen to WWCC. I’ve even had folks tell me WWCC was instrumental in helping them come to accept Christ as their Savior. WOW! What a privilege! But here’s the low-down: As we are designated an LPFM (Low-power FM) station, we fall under FCC guidelines which makes soliciting financial support more regulated and challenging than a full-power station, such as KLOVE, WASK or AFR.
As it’s expensive to produce and market a radio program, virtually all those who produce a radio program will decline spending their money on airing programming on LPFMs in lieu of larger, full-power FMs. Simply put, it’s a business decision where they need maximum listeners. Unfortunately, our LPFM status and FCC-allocated transmission power output simply aren’t commercial in that sense. As such, the programs you hear on WWCC are aired free of charge to the producers. The “profit” we seek is heavenly and as such, WWCC has never “made a profit” financially, but we’d like to at least pay our bills. If you can help us, great! All donations are used at 100% to defray operating expenses.
